Thanks for posting this. Interesting info even if we are not rescue swimmers. There may be a times when we will be called upon to do a rescue someone. I’ve come close to bringing my boat to aid someone in the North River who jumped off their boat but, did not think/know what currents can do. A power boat got to them first so I was able to back off. As a solo sailor I do a lot of “what if’s” all the time and try to have backups in place for when things go wrong. But, from Vittones talk it is also good to remind yourself that there may always be a new situation that you had not thought of and you should not panic when that happens.
